d&#8217;un crash d&#8217;avion, un canso bombers de l&#8217;Arm\u00e9e Royale Canadienne. Voici \u00e0 quoi il ressemblait :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/th.bing.com\/th\/id\/R.62ce8c6a24f273eb547f0bbe9dffb880?rik=oFdqxLRgNL66hg&amp;riu=http%3a%2f%2fwww.flugzeuginfo.net%2facimages%2fpby5a_kp.jpg&amp;ehk=IuWHCgpJebobnmBgX0t5ddk4BTTTiPYOTdPteug7Rsw%3d&amp;risl=&amp;pid=ImgRaw&amp;r=0\" alt=\"Afficher l\u2019image source\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>A la suite de l&#8217;attaque de Pearl Harbor en 1941, Tofino faisait partie de la ligne de front du Canada pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale, bourdonnant de bombardiers au-dessus de sa t\u00eate, pr\u00eat \u00e0 bombarder toute attaque ennemie approchant de ce c\u00f4t\u00e9 du Pacifique. L\u2019avion s\u2019est \u00e9cras\u00e9 peu apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9collage \u00e0 Tofino le 12 f\u00e9vrier 1945, quelques mois avant la fin de la Seconde Guerre mondiale. Il avait d\u00e9coll\u00e9 pour retourner \u00e0 Coal Harbour, dans le nord de l\u2019\u00eele de Vancouver, lorsque le moteur a perdu de l\u2019\u00e9nergie. Le pilote Ron Scholes a pu ralentir sa descente, \u00e9pargnant la vie de tous ceux qui se trouvaient \u00e0 bord. Alerter l\u2019a\u00e9rodrome de Tofino par radio n\u2019a pas \u00e9t\u00e9 possible \u00e0 cause de l\u2019\u00e9pave enflamm\u00e9e. L\u2019\u00e9quipage a utilis\u00e9 des parachutes pour cr\u00e9er des tentes en attendant les secours. Ils ont pu d\u00e9clencher une fus\u00e9e \u00e9clairante \u00e0 une distance de l\u2019\u00e9pave lorsqu\u2019ils ont entendu un avion d\u00e9coller. Onze heures plus tard, ils ont \u00e9t\u00e9 retrouv\u00e9s et secourus. L\u2019arm\u00e9e a fait exploser des explosifs, laissant un crat\u00e8re de 6 m\u00e8tres (aujourd\u2019hui un petit \u00e9tang) que l&#8217;on voit sur le chemin vers l\u2019\u00e9pave.
