vitesse!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous logeons chez nos amis Francis et Mumu \u00e0 La Jolla, station baln\u00e9aire chic de San Diego, qui abrite des instituts de recherche scientifique tr\u00e8s r\u00e9put\u00e9s comme Scripps ou Salk Institute, dans lesquels travaillent de nombreux scientifiques c\u00e9l\u00e8bres et prix Nobel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-webfactory-map\"><div notamment r\u00e9put\u00e9es pour abriter des colonies de phoques (sea lions en anglais, \u00e9vitez de crier en fran\u00e7ais que vous voyez des &#8220;phoques&#8221; partout, on va se retourner et Nous avons une id\u00e9e pr\u00e9cise de ce que nous cherchons : une voiture SUV, 4X4 si possible, avec une haute garde pour la piste, r\u00e9sistante, avec pas trop de miles au compteur, et bien s\u00fbr pas trop ch\u00e8re. Apr\u00e8s 2 jours et demi de recherches intensives, nous l&#8217;avons enfin ! Voici notre carrosse :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"640\" height=\"412\" src=\"https:\/\/travelercrossing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/IMG_1377.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-454\" srcset=\"https:\/\/travelercrossing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/IMG_1377.jpg 640w, https:\/\/travelercrossing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/02\/IMG_1377-300x193.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><figcaption>Il nous faut lui trouver un petit nom, car elle va nous accompagner pendant 6 mois!<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>C&#8217;est une Honda CRV 4&#215;4 de 2011 avec 117 000 miles au compteur, soit 188 000 km environ. Ce qui est tr\u00e8s raisonnable ici, et pour ce type de voiture (la Bettle que j&#8217;avait achet\u00e9e en 2011 avait 149 000 miles, on l&#8217;a revendue avec 185 000 miles au compteur, et on sait qu&#8217;elle roule encore puisque nos amis la voient r\u00e9guli\u00e8rement \u00e0 San Diego). Nous avons eu la tr\u00e8s grande chance d&#8217;\u00eatre accompagn\u00e9es de notre ami Roy pendant ces 2 jours et demi. Nous n&#8217;en serions probablement pas l\u00e0 aujourd&#8217;hui sans lui! En tant que touriste fran\u00e7ais, on ne peut pas acheter une voiture sur le sol am\u00e9ricain et encore moins l&#8217;assurer. Cela a \u00e9t\u00e9 possible pour nous car nous avions d\u00e9j\u00e0 v\u00e9cu aux USA et avions donc laiss\u00e9 des &#8220;traces administratives&#8221; favorables, si on peut le dire ainsi. La question de l&#8217;assurance avait \u00e9t\u00e9 une source de stress tr\u00e8s intense avant notre d\u00e9part. Nous sommes donc tr\u00e8s soulag\u00e9es aujourd&#8217;hui. Le choix de l&#8217;achat par rapport \u00e0 la location s&#8217;est impos\u00e9 \u00e0 nous tr\u00e8s rapidement par rapport au co\u00fbt actuel de la location de voiture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Voil\u00e0 donc pourquoi nous avons peu post\u00e9 ces derniers jours, la recherche et le stress \u00e9tant assez intense. Dernier conseil de notre ami Roy, que nous avons appliqu\u00e9 : emmener la voiture dans un garage ind\u00e9pendant avant de l&#8217;acheter pour faire un check up g\u00e9n\u00e9ral de la voiture.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous avons donc eu peu le temps de jouer aux touristes dans une ville qu&#8217;on conna\u00eet tr\u00e8s bien.
