Le moose est un \u00e9lan, le plus grand cervid\u00e9 du monde, ses bois poussent annuellement et tombent apr\u00e8s la saison de rut. Le caribou appartient en fait \u00e0 la famille des cerfs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Une pause pique-nique au bord d&#8217;un lac est bien m\u00e9rit\u00e9e pour se d\u00e9gourdir les pattes nuit, nous allons \u00eatre r\u00e9veill\u00e9es toutes les deux de mani\u00e8re \u00e9tonnante : une moufette a d\u00fb se sentir en danger en passant pr\u00e8s de la tente et a \u00e9mis ce doux parfum si caract\u00e9ristique, mais si puissant qu&#8217;il nous a r\u00e9veill\u00e9es!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce matin, l&#8217;orage s&#8217;annonce pour la journ\u00e9e! d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e avec l&#8217;arriv\u00e9e de la voie de chemin de fer en 1905. Mais, \u00e0 quelques kilom\u00e8tres de l\u00e0, les Fran\u00e7ais s&#8217;y \u00e9taient \u00e9tablis depuis bien longtemps&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le <strong>Fort William<\/strong>, centre op\u00e9rationnel de la Compagnie du Nord-Ouest entre 1803 et 1821, constitue une plaque tournante dans l\u2019histoire du Canada. \u00c0 compter de 1971, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 fid\u00e8lement reconstruit comme site historique, \u00e0 15 km de son emplacement originel \u00e0 l\u2019embouchure de la rivi\u00e8re Kaministiquia, sur la rive nord du lac Sup\u00e9rieur. Fort William est un lieu de passage majeur \u00e0 bien des \u00e9gards. Aux XVIII<sup>e<\/sup>&nbsp;et XIX<sup>e<\/sup>&nbsp;si\u00e8cles, il servait de point de rencontre entre l\u2019est et l\u2019ouest du continent dans l\u2019importante industrie de la fourrure \u00e0 Montr\u00e9al il fallait environ 6 semaines en cano\u00eb, et pour aller vers l&#8217;Ouest (Winnipeg notamment), il fallait environ 10 semaines, toujours en cano\u00eb! Visite guid\u00e9e fort int\u00e9ressante (en anglais), il nous faut cependant encore \u00e9claircir quelque peu les conflits entre la compagnie du Nord-Ouest et la compagnie de la baie d&#8217;Hudson.
