Il n&#8217;y a plus de vent, mais la voiture coll\u00e9e \u00e0 la tente a \u00e9t\u00e9 bien utile tout de m\u00eame. <strong>Mojave<\/strong> est un d\u00e9sert magnifique, m\u00e9connu, coinc\u00e9 entre Joshua NP et Death Valley NP \u00e0 l&#8217;est de la Californie. Par le pass\u00e9, nous y avons d\u00e9j\u00e0 camp\u00e9 (nous avions tenu la tente toute la nuit pour ne pas qu&#8217;elle s&#8217;envole et nous avions escalad\u00e9 les Kelso Dunes, exp\u00e9rience incroyable. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Cette fois nous somme plus \u00e0 l&#8217;est, au camping du Hole in the Wall, camping primitif (6 $ la nuit, les toilettes nous suffisent, nous sommes autonomes pour le reste gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 notre douche solaire). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Nous commen\u00e7ons donc la journ\u00e9e par une petite rando (1 mile), juste \u00e0 c\u00f4t\u00e9 du camping : le Hole in the Wall Ring Trail (comprenez la rando des trous dans le mur, vous allez vite comprendre&#8230;).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" width=\"768\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/travelercrossing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_2975-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-728\" srcset=\"https:\/\/travelercrossing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_2975-768x1024.jpg 768w, https:\/\/travelercrossing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_2975-225x300.jpg 225w, https:\/\/travelercrossing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_2975-1152x1536.jpg 1152w, https:\/\/travelercrossing.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/03\/IMG_2975-rotated.jpg 1512w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 768px) 100vw, 768px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Voici un p\u00e9troglyphe indien. Un p\u00e9troglyphe est une gravure sur la paroi alors que les pictogrammes vus \u00e0 Anza Borrego \u00e9taient des peintures (le plus souvent r\u00e9alis\u00e9es \u00e0 l&#8217;ocre Pour y acc\u00e9der, il faut suivre les indications de China Ranch. La plupart ont continu\u00e9 leur chemin vers la Sierra Nevada (\u00e0 l&#8217;ouest), mais quelques uns sont rest\u00e9s ici pour exploiter l&#8217;or blanc : le borax. Ces routes \u00e9tablies, appel\u00e9es Mormon Roads, ont en fait repris des chemins d\u00e9j\u00e0 existants cr\u00e9\u00e9s par les indiens Shoshone, pr\u00e9sents dans la r\u00e9gion depuis 8000 ans. Ces routes vont devenir des voies de chemin de fer pour exporter les minerais extraits. La Tonopah and Tidewater Railroad (400 km) a \u00e9t\u00e9 construite en 1906 &#8211; 1907 pour transporter le borax, puis a ouvert un service pour les passagers, jusqu&#8217;en 1940, date \u00e0 laquelle l&#8217;exploitation de la voie ferr\u00e9e a d\u00e9finitivement cess\u00e9, faute de rentabilit\u00e9. premier road trip. La nuit de No\u00ebl dans le tipi avait alors \u00e9t\u00e9 m\u00e9morable. Si bien que j&#8217;y suis revenue, encore et encore, et Cynthia est devenue une amie. Nous avons pass\u00e9 la soir\u00e9e \u00e0 rattraper 3 ann\u00e9es sans se voir, autour d&#8217;un bon d\u00eener. Puis nous avons dormi dans une des chambres qu&#8217;elle loue. Le ciel \u00e9tait encore incroyablement \u00e9toil\u00e9. Difficile de comprendre la folie de certains hommes ici bas quand on observe ce spectacle grandiose de la nature.
