Il fut un temps, pas si lointain, Las Vegas \u00e9tait encore un village mal d\u00e9grossi, o\u00f9 l&#8217;\u00e9vocation du nom de Nelson suscitait autant l&#8217;envie que la peur. Puis, \u00e0 partir des ann\u00e9es 1860 (Las Vegas \u00e9tait toujours une prairie&#8230;), les mines et l&#8217;appat du gain ont attir\u00e9 prospecteurs et personnes peu fr\u00e9quentables, &#8220;sans foi ni loi&#8221;, les crimes \u00e9taient courants. Lucky Luke n&#8217;\u00e9tait pas encore l\u00e0 pour r\u00e9tablir l&#8217;ordre. Bref, des millions de dollars d&#8217;or, d&#8217;argent, de cuivre et de plomb ont \u00e9t\u00e9 extraits de ces mines. Nelson a compt\u00e9 plusieurs dizaines de milliers d&#8217;habitants \u00e0 cette \u00e9poque. Il en reste quelques dizaines aujourd&#8217;hui. Les mines ont d\u00e9finitivement ferm\u00e9 en 1945. Le propri\u00e9taire de la ville et de la mine en fait une utilisation touristique aujourd&#8217;hui, mais de nombreux \u00e9v\u00e9nements (mariages, shootings photo, tournages de films) y sont \u00e9galement organis\u00e9s, permettant la survie et l&#8217;entretien de la Ghost Town. Graceland&#8221; avec Kevin Costner et Kurt Russell en 2001, cet avion a \u00e9t\u00e9 achemin\u00e9 (intact) jusqu&#8217;ici, \u00e7a a cout\u00e9 10 000 $. Pour les besoins du film, lors d&#8217;une prise, il a explos\u00e9. Il aurait fallu 10 000 autres dollars pour l&#8217;\u00e9vacuer. La petite cage en haut d&#8217;un couloir de mine \u00e9tait pour un oiseau, mais par n&#8217;importe lequel : le canari, il chante tout le temps, il a des tr\u00e8s petits poumons. S&#8217;il s&#8217;arr\u00eate de chanter, c&#8217;est donc qu&#8217;il est mort et qu&#8217;il faut \u00e9vacuer en urgence faute d&#8217;oxyg\u00e8ne&#8230; Si on n&#8217;a pas le temps d&#8217;\u00e9vacuer, on tue les mules car elles prennent trop de dioxyg\u00e8ne. Les mules sont utilis\u00e9es plut\u00f4t que les chevaux car elles sont plus petites, st\u00e9riles et peuvent porter des charges plus importantes. On a quand m\u00eame compris des trucs finalement! Cette partie s&#8217;est d\u00e9velopp\u00e9e principalement \u00e0 partir de 1945, avant le strip donc. Ce quartier est ensuite tomb\u00e9 en d\u00e9su\u00e9tude au profit du strip, mais semble progressivement rena\u00eetre de ses cendres aujourd&#8217;hui, gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l&#8217;art et aux mus\u00e9es qui s&#8217;y installent, le Mob Museum (qui revient sur la relation entre la ville et la mafia) ou le Neon Museum (qui collectionne toutes les anciennes enseignes lumineuses de la ville,
